UNC Basketball: Updated odds for Tar Heels to win it all
By Zack Pearson
We take a look at the updated odds for the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program for the 2020-21 college basketball season
While we await the start of the 2020 college football season in two weeks, the college basketball season is still months away and there is some uncertainty with it.
The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and there have been some talks about a potential bubble for conferences across the country. There has also been talk of starting the season later in December or January.
But as long as the games are played, the NCAA plans on crowning a champion.
Following a disappointing season in 2019-20, the North Carolina Tar Heels are hoping to reload and make another run at it. Roy Williams and his staff welcome back some key players including Garrison Brooks, Armando Bacot and Leaky Black as well as a Top 2 overall recruiting class.
Things should be different in Chapel Hill next season.
However, the Tar Heels won’t enter next year as the favorites in the Atlantic Coast Conference and their title odds aren’t at the top. The latest odds from William Hill Sportsbook are out with Duke, Villanova and Gonzaga sitting as the favorites at 10-1.
The Tar Heels have solid odds from a betting perspective, coming in at 30-1 to win it all and are slotted with San Diego State, Ohio State, Houston, and Wisconsin. That’s pretty good considering where UNC fell last season and the talent they lost.
Of course, those odds could also increase or decrease but if you’re planning on betting the Tar Heels anyway, then 30-1 offers some value especially when we don’t know what type of season we are going to have.
