A big UNC Football recruiting target has cut his list down to just 10 teams. But can the Tar Heels land this in-state recruit?

As we sit just two weeks away from the start of the 2020 college football season, the UNC Football program is hoping to live up to their expectations.

The future of the program is very bright as head coach Mack Brown and his staff have turned in back-to-back Top 30 recruiting classes and currently have a Top 20 class for 2021. Brown has been able to hit the recruiting trail and win some key battles, locking in big commitments for his program.

While the Tar Heels continue to work on that 2021 class, they received some good news about a 2022 prospect on Friday.

Four-star outside linebacker Jalon Walker provided an update to his recruitment and cut his list down to 10 schools. Among the 10 were the Tar Heels, who made the cut:

Walker listed UNC, Notre Dame, Auburn, Ohio State, LSU, Arizona State, Clemson, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Georgia and Texas on his final list. The Salisbury, North Carolina native is ranked No. 41 overall, the No. 2 outside linebacker and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247 Sports rankings.

He had a total of 24 offers in his recruitment but will now focus on these 10 moving forward.

Brown and his staff have done a great job of landing some the top in-state talent for the 2021 recruiting class, something that was lacking over the past few years with the program. And now they are in the race for the No. 2 player in the state but will have to beat out some tough programs.
