Roy Williams and the UNC Basketball team has a new prospect they are after in the 2022 class, extending an offer on Monday

The UNC Basketball program has added a new target to their 2022 basketball recruiting board and it’s a big one.

According to Inside Carolina, Williams has officially offered a scholarship to four-star center Dylan Anderson on Monday. Anderson is a 7-foot, 215-pound center that is out of Gilbert Arizona and a part of the 2022 recruiting class.

The center is just the fourth prospect in the 2022 class to receive an offer from the Tar Heels, joining Skyy Clark, Jaden Bradley and Mark Mitchell.

Anderson is ranked as the No. 43 overall recruit, No. 7 center and the No. 3 player in the state of Arizona per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. The 7-footer has some game to him as a excellent rebounder as well as scorer. With Garrison Brooks graduating following this year and the future status of Armando Bacot, Day’ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler, UNC will need some more help in the post and Williams is hoping Anderson provides that.

As it stands now, Anderson has a total of 9 offers in his recruitment and has yet to take any official visits. He does have ties to Arizona State as his mother was a high jumper for the Sun Devils. He also has a brother that is playing at Missouri Western State.

It’s tough to tell where each team in his recruitment stands as it’s early but we imagine an offer from UNC will make a difference for Anderson. This is certainly a recruitment to keep an eye on as the months go on and hopefully UNC can eventually get him on campus for an official visit down the road.
