The pitch from the UNC Basketball program to this four-star shooting guard in the 2021 class has been revealed. Where do the Tar Heels stand now?

Four-star shooting guard D’Marco Dunn has become a ‘priority’ recruit for the UNC Basketball program as Roy Williams looks to add some much-needed depth to his backcourt.

With Caleb Love having the potential of a one-and-done player, UNC’s backcourt depth could be slim starting with the 2021-22 season. R.J. Davis and Anthony Harris will likely be back but with no guards committed in 2021 just yet, it’s an area of concern.

Dunn received his offer from North Carolina a few months back and he’s seen his recruitment heat up ever since. The Arizona native moved to the Tar Heel state and has been in the spotlight ever since.

As it stands now, Dunn has 19 offers in his recruitment with Arizona, Texas, Marquette and North Carolina among the top offers. But what has Roy Williams been pitching to Dunn in terms of fit?

Well, that was recently revealed per All Tar Heels in an interview Dunn did for 247 Sports. Take a look at what Dunn said:

“They want me there and just how I can fit in their system,” Dunn told 247Sports. “I shoot the ball well, and they see me fitting in and making an impact early.”

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Dunn is ranked No. 69 overall and No. 15 at his position per 247 Sports but he’s been leaving an impression over the past year.

Dunn is one of the better all-around shooters in this class and would be a huge get for the Tar Heels in this class. Williams could really use a scorer like Dunn in their class and need someone who can knock down shots from all over the court.

While there hasn’t been an official evaluation period this Summer, Dunn’s recruitment has sort of stayed put. Many believe this could be a two-team race between UNC and Arizona but Marquette and Texas are both still in it and could make an impact down the stretch.

This 2023 PG hoping to get interest from UNC. dark. Next
