2015 North Carolina Tar Heels

First, on the list, we have the 2015 Tar Heels led by head coach Larry Fedora. This marked the first time in the 2000s that the Heels ended the year with an AP ranking. They ended the 2015 season nationally ranked 15th in the country. This was also the best team Larry Fedora had in his tenure which saw this Heels team go 11-3 a win percentage of .786 which was also the highest in nearly two decades.

There were more high fives this season than usual with the Heels going 8-0 in the conference due to a dominating offense and a team that found the end zone often averaging 40.7 points per game 9th best out of 128 schools.

This Carolina team also had many fan favorites such as Elijah Hood who rushed for 1463 yards and 17 touchdowns. Marquise Williams a dual-threat quarterback who threw for 3072 yards, 24 touchdowns while also rushing for 948 yards with 14 touchdowns one catching it as a receiver. During this same season, we got another look at Mitch Trubisky, Ryan Switzer, and the last season of Shakeel Rashad.

Despite losing in the Russell Athletic Bowl in a high scoring affair against Baylor 49-38 this Carolina football team was truly one to enjoy and fans will remember.
