The Tar Heels were coming off a national championship season while returning their best player, Joel Berry, but this team didn’t live up to the hype. They made a deep run in the ACC tournament, making it all the way to the championship game, but they fell short to Virginia.

This team beat Duke twice, with one of those wins coming in the ACC tournament, which always makes the season more enjoyable and memorable to look back on.

Where this team fell off was in the NCAA tournament, where they couldn’t make it out of the second round as a 2-seed. They beat Lipscomb, but got manhandled by a much lesser Texas A&M team that had the kind of size that an unusually small North Carolina team simply couldn’t macth up with.

This team was expected to be great, but the blowout loss to Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament is how this team will most commonly be remembered.
