UNC Basketball: 5-star 2022 target set to cut list

UNC Basketball recruiting target Skyy Clark will cut his list down and provide a big update to his recruitment this week

The UNC Basketball program will soon learn where they stand in the recruitment of a five-star combo guard they are targeting out of the 2022 recruiting class.

It was last month when Roy Williams and his staff at North Carolina officially offered guard Skyy Clark a scholarship and entered the race in his recruitment. Since then, things have been a bit quiet on the recruitment front for Clark. That’s about to change.

On Wednesday afternoon Clark tweeted out that he has plans to reveal his Top 7 programs, cutting his recruitment on Friday:

Clark has a total of 24 offers in his recruitment so far but he now feels like he’s in a good enough spot to trim that list down and focus on seven schools. Will UNC make it?

It’s likely we do see the Tar Heels on Clark’s list of seven programs as they are a serious contender in the recruitment. But they will be battling a Blue Blood in Kentucky, who is also expected to be on his list.

Other big schools that are recruiting Clark are: Arizona, UCLA, Florida State, Memphis, Kansas and Oregon among others.

Clark is ranked as the No. 15 overall player, No. 3 combo guard and No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee by the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He’s one of a few recruits that UNC has an offer out for in the 2022 recruiting class and would be a huge get for the Tar Heels early on in the cycle. We should know where UNC stands on Friday when he does drop that final seven list.
