6. Wake Forest (Home)

Next up on the list, we have a matchup many Carolina players and fans will have circled as they seek revenge: The team on the rise, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons led by head coach Dave Clawson.

Last season Wake Forest was a true threat and a fun one to watch as they finished with an 8-5 overall record going 4-4 in conference play, including a 24-18 win over Carolina. Wake Forest is a program on the rise and is one to watch out for as each year their name becomes more and more household. Clawson has done an amazing job with the Demon Deacons and since his tenure is 1-1 against the Heels.

The Demon Deacons, however, will be without stud quarterback Jamie Newman who finished 2nd in total yards in the ACC and was unstoppable against Carolina. Newman decided to transfer out to become a Georgia Bull Dog. This leaves Sam Hartman as the quarterback, who isn’t as mobile as Newman, helping the Heels stack up sacks versus chasing a speedy Newman around.

This will be the revenge many Tar Heels are seeking as it will be a home game for the Heels, so you can expect for them to go out with a bang and a statement.
