A meeting with a five-star point guard has been rescheduled until next week as the UNC Basketball program continues their pursuit.
The UNC Basketball program was set to meet with five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler yesterday via Zoom but that meeting apparently never happened.
Instead, the two sides will meet next week.
According to StockRiser’s Jake Weingarten, Roy Williams and the Tar Heels will meet with Chandler next Monday. There was no reason given for the move of the meeting:
The five-star point guard still remains high on UNC’s recruiting list for the 2021 class as they have been in pursuit for months now. Chandler is one the best players in the 2021 class ranking No. 11 overall, No. 1 at his position and No. 1 in the state of Kansas by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
After receiving 27 offers in his recruitment, Chandler cut his list down a few months ago to UNC, Duke, Tennessee, Memphis and Kentucky. While the Volunteers appear to be the favorites as it stands now, other programs aren’t backing off yet. There were some rumors swirling that Chandler could make a decision in August but him wanting to visit programs may push that back.
With a recruiting dead period imposed by the NCAA, Chandler hasn’t been able to take those visits over the past few months and has had to rely on Zoom meetings instead. The Tar Heels appear to be on the outside looking in for Chandler but the longer the recruitment goes on, the more they can stay in this thing.
