UNC Basketball: 5-star 2021 target to meet with Tar Heels on Monday

Five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler is set to meet with the UNC Basketball program on Monday through a videoconference
The UNC Basketball program is set to meet with a five-star recruit on Monday through teleconference as they hope to make a late push to land him.
The NCAA’s recruiting dead period currently sits through the end of August but is expected to be extended again as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hit the nation. With that dead period, programs and recruits are not allowed to travel.
That has forced some struggles for programs seeking to land some recruits for their 2021 and future classes.
One prospect that Roy Williams and his North Carolina staff have had their eyes on is five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler. The Kansas native cut his list down to five schools back in April listing UNC, Duke, Tennessee, Kentucky and Memphis as his finalists.
With rumors swirling that Chandler could end his recruitment in August, teams might be making their final push to land the talented point guard. On Monday, Williams and his staff are expected to meet with Chandler on Monday via teleconference:
Chandler is ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect in the class, No. 1 point guard, and No. 1 in the state of Kansas by 247 Sports. He’s one of the top players in this class and would be a big difference maker for whatever program he picks.
As for a decision date, the rumors still lurk about him committing soon and potentially in the Fall but if he wants to visit some programs, it will have to wait. That could be the one thing holding him back.
