Daniel Bard

Next up we have Daniel Bard who will actually be making his amazing comeback this season with the Colorado Rockies after not playing for the last seven years.

The right-handed pitcher was truly fun to watch during his time at Carolina where he played from 2004-06 alongside Andrew Miller.  In his time with the Tar Heels, Bard earned ACC pitcher of the Week twice in 2006. During his career at Carolina he had an impressive 23-12 record for the Tar Heels with 235 strikeouts thrown.

He would then get drafted by the Boston Red Sox as the 28th overall pick in the 1st round and would go on to play for the Reds Sox until 2013 which so happens to be the last time he’s thrown a pitch in a game.

His comeback story is one to watch as he looks to revamp his career in Colorado. Bard is truly a guy not only UNC fans can root for but fans of baseball as his comeback could be one of the ages and something we look back on as an awesome moment.

The Rockies will open up on the road Friday at Texas, to begin a big three-game set against the NL to open the year.
