Andrew Miller

Next up we have another Tar Heel favorite who has made an amazing career of striking out the very best for over a decade, Andrew Miller.

Miller played for Carolina in 2004-06 before getting drafted sixth overall by the Detroit Tigers.

While playing at Carolina, Miller was a standout and his impressive win amount ranks third in Tar Heels’ history with 27. He was a dominant pitcher during his time with the Tar Heels and it led over into the majors. Not only did he get the job done by leading Carolina to victories he did it with throwing strikeouts in the process with 325 total strikeouts in which 133 came in his final season where he set the record for Carolina for most thrown strikeouts in a single season. H

e’s won accolades with Carolina as Baseball National Player Of The Year as well as the Roger Clemens award for national top pitcher.

Since being in the MLB, Miller continued to shine with two all-star appearances, 2015 AL Rivera Reliever Award, and 2016 AL ALCS MVP. This will be Miller’s 15th season playing and he will be suiting up with the Cardinals and has a chance to repeat as a division champion in 2020.
