Kyle Seager (Seattle Mariners)

First up, the fan-favorite Tar Heel, one of the most noticeable to ever swing the bat, third baseman of the Seattle Mariners Kyle Seager.

Seager played second base for the Tar Heels in 2007, and 2008, when he had one of the best seasons ever by a Tar Heel where he racked up many honors such as second-team All-American from the NCBWA as well as third-team All-American in college baseball.

He also earned the honor of the Walter Rabb award, which recognizes Tar Heels that had the biggest improved position. In his Carolina career in just two years, he held a .330 average with 469 at-bats, 96 runs, 155 hits, 105 RBI, and 11 home runs.

This will be Seager’s 10th season, all of which he’s played with the Mariners. He’s had a productive career, making the All-Star Team in 2014 and won a Gold Glove Award at third base. While Seager isn’t on a Hall of Fame pace, he’s a damn good infielder that could be a solid veteran for the Mariners.

The Mariners will open up their 2020 season against defending AL Champion Houston Astros on the road Friday night.
