Will the UNC Basketball program make a run at this four-star in-state recruit in the 2022 class? He’s starting to rack up some offers

Class of 2022 four-star recruit De’Ante Green is starting to rack up the offers so far in his recruitment including a few from Atlantic Coast Conference programs. But one in-state team, the UNC Basketball program, has yet to extend an offer.

The Arden, North Carolina prospect has seen a jump in his recruitment over the past few months and it’s a trend that is expected to continue. Green has a total of 22 offers so far in his recruitment with the latest being from Clemson and Louisville earlier in the week.

He also has offers from N.C. State, Kansas, LSU, Auburn and Tennessee among other schools.

Being an in-state recruit, he’s been a top target for the Wolfpack for a long time now but other schools are starting to take notice. Will Roy Williams and his staff be next?

With Green’s recruitment buzzing, it’s possible the Tar Heels could show some interest. They do have offers out to a few power forwards in the 2021 class but have just three total offers out in 2022.

The Tar Heels are working at their pace in terms of 2022 offers and haven’t extended many so far as we are in recruiting dead period at the moment. Without a live evaluation period, it’s tough for programs to really get a good look on a player and make a decision for an offer or not. That could be the case here with the Tar Heels.

Green was recently named the MVP of the Big Shots Tournament held in Myrtle Beach from a few weeks back as he has elevated his game. UNC target D’Marco Dunn was a part of that tournament as the Tar Heels were able to watch virtually.

The power forward is ranked as the No. 82 overall prospect by Rivals at the moment and early on they have him landing in Raleigh at N.C. State. A lot can happen in this recruitment and it’s something to keep an eye on.
