UNC Football: Tar Heels trying to flip Miami commit
By Zack Pearson
The UNC Football program is attempting to flip a Miami commit as they have officially offered a three-star kicker on Wednesday
With a top 20 class coming in for the 2020 recruiting cycle, Mack Brown and his UNC Football staff are off to a great start in 2021. The Tar Heels’ 2021 class is currently ranked inside the Top 5 and are hoping to add even more.
UNC is still awaiting the decisions of their remaining targets but they also have their eyes on another recruit as of late.
Three-star kicker and Miami commit Andres Borregales has become a big target on the Tar Heels’ recruiting board of late as the program has shown some interest. And now it appears as if UNC is starting to ramp up the pursuit.
After showing interest a few weeks back, the Tar Heels officially offered Borregales on Wednesday night making an extended effort to try and flip him:

Borregales is ranked as the No. 2 overall kicker in the 2021 recruiting class by 247 Sports and would fit a big need for the Tar Heels on special teams. UNC hasn’t had a solid kicker since Nick Weiler in 2016.
The Tar Heels could use a good kicker, judging by the struggles they have had since Weiler left the program. But can they eventually flip Borregales from Miami? It certainly sounds like they have a legit chance to do so and take a key recruit from a Coastal Division rival.
