The UNC Football program has two wide receivers listed on the preseason Biletnikoff Award watch list on Thursday morning

If we do see college football this Fall, it should be an exciting one as there is a lot of hype surrounding the UNC Football team. Coming off an improved 2019 campaign in which they won their first bowl game since 2013, the Tar Heels are primed to take that next step.

UNC will return a majority of their starters on both sides of the football including on offense where they took a big step forward. Among those returning are a pair of wide receivers that were crucial to the Tar Heels’ success in 2019.

Now, as we sit here in July pondering the new season, both receivers are earning some national praise.

Both Dazz Newsome and Dyami Brown were named to the 2020 preseason Biletnikoff Award watch list on Thursday morning. The duo are two of 55 players that were named to the watch list as the award honors the best receiver, regardless of position, in college football.

This is the time of year where we see the watch lists released for awards and for the first time in a while, there are a lot of Tar Heels being named to the watch lists. Earlier in the week both Chazz Surratt and Sam Howell saw their name on watch lists and now the pair of wide receivers will join them.

Newsome is coming off a 2019 campaign in which he caught 74 passes for 1,018 yards and 10 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Brown finished the year with 54 receptions for 1,034 yards and 12 touchdowns. Both players were legit deep threats for the Tar Heels and established themselves as two of the best in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Next. Sam Howell among best returning QB's. dark
