The UNC Basketball program extended an offer to a five-star small forward in the 2022 recruiting class on Wednesday night. Find out more about that here.

Roy Williams and his UNC Basketball staff have had a very active past 24 hours in terms of sending out offers.

We already wrote on the Tar Heels officially extending an offer to class of 2021 five-star power forward Jabari Smith Jr. earlier today and now there’s another offer out. In addition to the Smith Jr. offer, the Tar Heels have also offered class of 2022 five-star small forward Mark Mitchell.

The 6-foot-8, 205 pound prospect out of Mission, Kansas is one of the top players in the country ranking No. 19 overall, No. 5 at his small forward position and No. 1 in the state of Kansas by the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Mitchell announced the offer via his Twitter account on Wednesday night:

The Tar Heels are now Mitchell’s sixth offer in his recruitment, joining Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, USC and Wake Forest to offer the prospect. He’s also the fourth player the Tar Heels have offered in the 2022 recruiting class.

While Mitchell is ranked as a Top 20 player, his stock keeps rising due to his play. Mitchell even earned a comp to former UNC Basketball recruit Harrison Barnes at where he is in this stage of his recruitment and game.

It’s still very early in his recruitment so it’s tough to tell where the Tar Heels exactly stand but they should be considered a legit threat for Mitchell in the recruitment.

Next. Are the Tar Heels in good shape for this 5-star?. dark
