UNC Basketball freshman Caleb Love earned some national recognition from ESPN analyst Dick Vitale as one of his top diaper dandies

Although the 2020-21 college basketball season is still up in the air due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNC Basketball fans should be very excited about the 2020 recruiting class that head coach Roy Williams and his staff are bringing in.

The Tar Heels have a Top 2 class for the 2020 recruiting cycle with six players committed to the program. Williams managed to land three five-star recruits and three four-star recruits at a much-needed time as UNC is coming off a 14-19 record a year ago.

This class is very important for the Tar Heels in terms of getting back on track and the future of the program. But one recruit is leading the way for the class and receiving some national recognition.

ESPN’s Dick Vitale wrote on his 8 freshman diaper dandies to watch for in the 2020-21 college basketball season and included UNC’s five-star guard Caleb Love. Here is what Vitale had to say about Love:

"North Carolina has one of the top recruiting classes coming into 2020-21, so I could have picked several Tar Heels for this piece. I went with Love because Roy Williams will trust him with the ball in his hands. Guard play is crucial for North Carolina, and this kid can flat-out play."

Love is the highest-rated recruit for North Carolina in their 2020 recruiting class finishing No. 13 overall and the No. 2 point guard in 247 Sports Composite Rankings. The addition of Love drastically improves UNC’s backcourt at a position which saw Cole Anthony leave after one season and Jeremiah Francis transfer out.

Watching Love in high school, you could see his excellent scoring ability and just how good he is with the ball in his hands leading the offense. He’s a perfect fit for what Williams wants to do with his offense, pushing the ball up the floor and setting the pace.

Next. Is UNC a legit contender for this 5-star recruit?. dark
