Players from the men’s and women’s UNC Basketball program are back on campus as they moved in over the weekend in Chapel Hill

It was earlier in June when members of the North Carolina football program began their return to campus in Chapel Hill. They did so in waves, bringing back a certain amount of players, coaches and staff members at a time.

Now it’s the basketball program’s turn to make their way back to campus.

This past weekend, members of the UNC Basketball program arrived on campus including the freshmen class. A few players tweeted out that they were officially on campus as they began the process of coming back.

Usually players would be on campus for the full Summer but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have had to delay that process. Players from all sports can’t return at the same time either as the University still wants to use social distancing measures for the return.

Roy Williams and his staff are welcoming in a Top 3 recruiting class for the 2020 cycle and it comes at a much-needed time. UNC is coming off a disappointing 14-19 season before the year was ended early in the ACC Tournament. But with this class coming in, the future looks bright for the Tar Heels.

Upon their arrival, players were getting tested for COVID-19. The next step for the men’s and women’s teams is to begin assessments and physical conditioning on July 8th.

Other sports will also continue to make their way onto campus through the month of July.

Rumor of a package deal is bad news for Tar Heels. dark. Next
