A former UNC Basketball player has been added to a roster for a standby team at next week’s The Basketball Tournament

Before the NBA returns to the court with their plan to play in Orlando, the country will have some basketball as an appetizer.

The Basketball Tournament announced they are planning to play on July 4th and will run through July 14th, crowing a champion. The tournament was founded in 2014 and has been a hit for fans looking for basketball in the Summer.

A few weeks ago, we told you about a few former North Carolina basketball players, P.J. Hairston and Kennedy Meeks, that will play for Team CP3. But earlier this week, another former Tar Heel is also on his way up to Columbus.

The team PrimeTime Players announced they are adding former UNC guard Christian Keeling to their roster.

PrimeTime Players is currently NOT in the field of 24 teams but are instead one of the four teams that are on standby for the tournament. If a team drops or has positive COVID-19 tests, one of the four teams will replace them.

Keeling started his college career at Charleston Southern before transferring to North Carolina for his final year in 2019. While Keeling excelled at Charleston Southern, he got off to a slow start for the Tar Heels. But by the time the season ended, Keeling was playing well and showing why UNC added him as a transfer.

Let’s see if Keeling and PrimeTime Players get their chance to play in the tournament.
