A look at the updated odds for the North Carolina Tar Heels and the 2020-21 college basketball season. Where do they stand?

We still have an entire Summer before we see college basketball and still, with some questions regarding COVID-19, we have no idea what the upcoming 2020-21 season will look like.  But if they do return to the court this Fall, the hope is that North Carolina avoids another season like last years.

The Tar Heels are coming off a 14-19 season, one in which they struggled to score offensively and faced a number of key injuries.

But Roy Williams and his staff are reloading with a six-man recruiting class that is ranked in the Top 3. They are also returning Garrison Brooks, an All-ACC member last year, as well as freshman Armando Bacot and junior Rechon Leaky Black. Things should be better for the team next season.

As for their chances to win it all? Well, the Tar Heels aren’t the favorites next season but they do have some intriguing odds if you’re hoping to score some money on a smaller bet.

William & Hill just released updated odds and……

Going into next season, the Tar Heels currently sit at 30/1 odds to win it all which is tied for 16th-best in college basketball. They are tied with Houston, Ohio State, San Diego State, Michigan, Texas and Ohio State.

That’s actually higher than I expected.

The Tar Heels are a bit of a long shot but a $100 bet on 30/1 odds would cash out to $3,100 and a solid pay day. But there’s a lot that needs to happen for UNC to win it all and it does depend on their draw for March Madness. Those odds will certainly change as the months go on, so if you’re for sure dropping cash on North Carolina, this might be a good time.
