UNC football standout Dyami Brown has been named one of 10 ‘dynamic playmakers’ for the 2020 season.

Junior pass catcher Dyami Brown is one-half of an outstanding wide receiver core that the North Carolina football program returns this year, and a big reason that the Tar Heels are expected to do big things in the ACC Coastal Division in 2020.

In the final game of his sophomore season, Brown hauled in five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in a 55-13 victory over Temple in the 2019 Military Bowl. That improved his season totals to 51 receptions, 1,034 yards and 12 touchdowns. Both his receiving yards and touchdowns led the Tar Heels, as did his 19.9 yards-per-catch average. His 14 catches of 20 or more yards downfield also led North Carolina in 2019, and was second in the nation to LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase.

247Sports’ Brad Crawford recently tabbed Brown as one of the top-10 playmakers in college football for the 2020 season, noting his tendency to make big plays downfield for the upstart Tar Heels.

"“50 catches for 1034 yards and a lot of highlights to pair with it make Brown an easy selection for this list,” Crawford writes. “Brown had a 62-yard TD against Miami, a 55-yard score against Wake Forest, and a 40-yarder against Clemson. . . The Tar Heels’ leader in receiving yards and touchdowns last fall, Brown is Sam Howell’s top target and can blow the lid off a secondary at any moment. Given North Carolina’s expected stance inside the Top 25 this fall, expect Brown to be a household name nationally for one of the ACC Coastal’s contenders.”"

Combined with senior receiver Dazz Newsome, who had a terrific 1,000-yard, 10-touchdown season of his own for North Carolina last year, Brown and the Tar Heels look to give sensational sophomore quarterback Sam Howell the weapons he needs to have a big season in the ACC Coastal Division. North Carolina is the early and prohibitive favorite to take the division title, and face Clemson in the 2020 ACC title game.
