The UNC Basketball program has reached out to a new target in the 2022 class as they are targeting this wing

With the NCAA allowing coaches to contact recruits in the 2022 class this week, Roy Williams and his staff at North Carolina have been busy. Already we have told you about at least five recruits they have contacted and now we are adding another to the list.

Per Endless Motor Sports, North Carolina is the latest program to reach out to four-star wing Tyler Nickel. The Tar Heels contacted the Virginia product a few days back as the Twitter account pointed it out:

Nickel’s recruitment appears to be heating up recently. He has a total of eight offers in his recruitment so far with Georgetown, VCU, Penn State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, LSU, Penn State, James Madison and Appalachian State have offered the recruit. Wisconsin and now UNC have also shown interest.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Nickel is unranked right now on 247 Sports but is ranked No. 76 nationally as a four-star prospect on Rivals. Back in May, Rivals recruiting analyst Eric Bossi listed Nickel as one of the players that really could have climbed the national rankings with AAU ball this Summer.

Nickel has really elevated his game during his sophomore season and is now on the radar for programs. He’s a name to watch moving forward, especially in his junior season and potentially with UNC keeping in contact with the recruit.
