We take a look at the updated Rivas 150 rankings for 2021 basketball recruiting class and where UNC Basketball’s commit ranks

The 2020 recruiting cycle is in the books for the college basketball as the focus shifts to the 2021 period for programs.

After turning in an impressive 2020 class that is ranked in the Top 3, Roy Williams and his staff are off to a good start for 2021. The program has one commitment so far, landing a verbal from four-star forward Dontrez Styles back in April. They also have seven offers out to prospects in that 2021 class as they would love to add at least two more to the class.

With the focus shifting to the 2021 class, Rivals has decided to update their 2021 recruiting rankings with a Top 150 list on Wednesday.

Of the Top 10 players on the list, nine of them remain uncommitted but the Tar Heels are still involved with four of those players. UNC is actively recruiting No. 2 Patrick Baldwin Jr., No. 4 Chet Holmgren, No. 9 Harrison Ingram and No. 10 Kennedy Chandler.

They are also recruiting No. 11-ranked prospect Hunter Sallis.  The Nebraska native made a HUGE jump in the rankings climbing all the way to No. 11. The Tar Heels offered Sallis back in May and are a legit threat in his recruitment.

As for UNC’s lone commit so far in the 2021 class, Styles checks in at No. 57 overall as a four-star recruit. Styles is ranked 11th among all small forwards in the class as it’s a loaded group for the position. There’s still plenty of time for Styles to up his ranking as well with his senior season on tap.
