The UNC Football program has just landed another big commitment from a four-star wide receiver in the 2021 class as he announced on Thursday night

Mack Brown and his North Carolina Tar Heels’ football program have added another commit to their 2021 recruiting class.

On Thursday night, four-star wide receiver J.J. Jones out of South Carolina pledged his verbal commitment to the Tar Heels. Jones posted a video message on Twitter saying his recruitment is 100 percent committed:

Originally Jones revealed he would be committing on his birthday later in the Summer but then changed his mind and switched it to this week. However, Jones never revealed a date and many speculated that it would happen on Friday night.

Instead, Jones made the decision and revealed that he is committed to the Tar Heels.

The four-star wide receiver per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings picked UNC over in-state South Carolina as well as Georgia, Mississippi State, and Tennessee. He had a total of 35 offers in his recruitment but in the end it appeared to be a two-team race between the Tar Heels and Gamecocks.

Jones now becomes the 15th player to commit to the Tar Heels 2021 recruiting class which ranks No. 4 overall and No. 2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He’s just the second player that is out of state to commit to the Tar Heels as Brown and his staff have made it a priority to land the top in-state talent.

The Tar Heels still have a few big targets left in their 2021 class and the hope is that they can turn in at least a Top 10 start. Well, it’s safe to say they are off to a heck of a start.
