A 2021 UNC football commit has made a massive jump in the 247Sports recruiting rankings

Raneiria “RaRa” Dillworth committed to the University of North Carolina in mid-April when he picked the Tar Heels over the Alabama Crimson Tide. Prior to his decision, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Dillworth had nearly 30 scholarship offers, including ones from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech. To say that Mack Brown and the Tar Heels beat out the best of the best for Dillworth’s commitment would be an understatement.

Dillworth had already made a remarkable improvement of better than 600 spots in the 247Sports Composite from October of 2019 to April 17 when he named North Carolina as his future school. And if that wasn’t enough, the 4-star linebacker has jumped up another 52 spots to No. 162 in the month since. His overall ranking went from 90 to 93, a substantial move upward, to say the least.

Formerly ranked 19th among players at his position and 12th in the state of North Carolina, Dillworth is now the No. 12 linebacker in the class, and ninth in his home state. He’s ranked even higher in the Top247, which now has him pegged as the 150th best prospect in the class of 2021.

Dillworth compiled 203 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, five sacks, and an interception as a junior at Glenn High School. He returned the interception and two fumbles for touchdowns. He joins a UNC recruiting class that’s ranked fourth in the nation behind just Ohio State, Tennessee and Clemson. He’s one of 13 Tar Heel pledges that rank among the top 40 prospects from the state of North Carolina.
