The UNC Basketball program are among a few teams that are prioritizing this top 2021 recruiting target out of Wisconsin

The North Carolina Tar Heels are welcoming in a fantastic recruiting class for 2020, finishing No. 2 in the 247 Sports rankings. The incoming class comes at the right time for the program after they dealt with a tough 2019-20 season.

While the 2020 class is a good one, Roy Williams and his staff are hoping to build up their 2021 class and ensure the future of the program is bright.

The Tar Heels currently have one commit in the 2021 class with four-star power forward Dontrez Styles pledging his verbal in April. They have seven other offers out including a new target in recruit D’Marco Dunn with the program offering him on Sunday.

Another big target on UNC’s board is five-star small forward Patrick Baldwin. The Sussex, Wisconsin is ranked No. 3 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings and has 23 offers so far in his recruitment. Baldwin is a top priority for a lot of teams including North Carolina and their rivals Duke.

While we are in a unique time regarding recruiting, Evan Daniels of 247 Sports talked to Baldwin about his recruitment including who is prioritizing him the most among his top 10. Baldwin listed five schools:

"All of them have prioritized me in their own way. The schools that have really stood out are Georgetown, Northwestern, UNC and Duke. Probably that list right there and then Milwaukee obviously but those are the schools that have been on me pretty hard."

Looking at that list are two blue bloods in UNC and Duke as well as a Georgetown program headed by Patrick Ewing. Northwestern is on the list as well, a Big Ten program that his father played for in his college career.

Baldwin’s father also coaches at Milwaukee, which appears on the list. Right now it’s tough to say what the Tar Heels’ chances are but the reports are that the Blue Devils could be in the lead as it stands now. Duke does have all six Crystal Ball predictions right now but we will have to see how this plays out over time.
