Could the UNC Basketball program land a package deal with two five-star recruits in the 2021 class? One recruit mentioned it..

With one commitment secured in the 2021 recruiting class in four-star power forward Dontrez Styles, Roy Williams and his staff are hoping to add a few more recruits to that class.

North Carolina has a total of eight offers out to recruits in the 2021 class but that includes Styles who committed and five-star Paolo Banchero, who eliminated UNC from his list. So breaking it down, there are currently six active offers out.

Among them are five-star small forward Harrison Ingram and five-star combo guard Hunter Sallis, both high on UNC’s recruiting board. But could they be a package deal?

The Tar Heels have been in pursuit of Ingram for a while now while Sallis is a new prospect that recently received an offer. The two could actually team up at North Carolina, creating a package deal and making Tar Heels’ fans happy.

Ingram recently did an interview on Instagram with Jeremy Shapiro (jshap_media), and was asked about playing with other recruits at schools. He mentioned a few different options with one being teaming up with Sallis at North Carolina. Here is what Ingram said:

“That’s one guy I forgot to mention. I’m not real close with Hunter but I’ve talked to him a little bit about teaming up. And Jalen Worley at Michigan. We talk about Me and Jalen at Michigan and me and Hunter at Louisville or more UNC for Hunter. But that would be tough. That boy is tough.”

We should note the usage of “tough” here is to reflect something good in this case, not tough as in tough to make happen.  Ingram also went on to say that his visit to North Carolina was his favorite so far in his recruitment.

As it stands now, there is no timetable for Ingram’s decision as the No. 17 overall recruit recently cut his list down to 10 finalists. From there, Ingram will continue on with his recruitment and likely have a decision in his senior season.
