One of the top targets for the UNC Football program has set a decision date to verbally commit to a program in June

Things have been a little quiet for Mack Brown and his North Carolina Tar Heels on the recruiting front over the past few weeks. UNC did have the No. 2 overall recruiting class for 2021 at one point but since then, they have dropped down to No. 3 behind Ohio State and Tennessee.

That was pretty much expected at some point and still having a Top 5 class at this stage is considered a win for Brown and his staff.

However, they aren’t done adding.

The Tar Heels still have a few big recruiting targets left on their board and should add at least a few of them before the National Signing Day in February of 2021. One of those targets is four-star defensive end Jahvaree Ritzie. The Kernersville, North Carolina product is a top target for UNC in this 2021 class and landing him would certainly boost that defense that is set to welcome in a really good class for 2020.

While it’s been a little quiet on the Ritzie front lately, the recruit did make an update as to when he will make a decision and it’s coming soon. Ritzie revealed on Twitter that he will be committing on June 12th:

Going into the recruitment, Ritzie will decide between his Top 5 programs that he listed back in late April. Those five are: North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Ohio State.

As it stands now, UNC is the leader in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictor earning all eight predictions. It appears as if they are the team to beat going into June.
