5-star UNC basketball target announces 10 teams that he’ll move forward with

5-star class of 2021 prospect Harrison Ingram eliminated nearly 20 schools when he announced his list of 10 finalists on Monday night. As first reported by Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten, Ingram is down to Arkansas, Baylor, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan, North Carolina, Purdue, Stanford, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

"“These are the ten schools which I believe truly have a chance at landing my commitment,” Ingram told Rivals. “Each of them has something different that makes them special from the rest.”"

In doing so, Ingram ended any hopes of a commitment for programs such as Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Texas and UCLA. His list also includes just one traditional blue blood — North Carolina — despite being one of the premier players in the class.

A 6-foot-7, 210-pound small forward out of St. Mark’s High School in Dallas, Texas, Ingram is ranked 17th in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s sixth among players at his position, and No. 1 in the Longhorn State. He’s a versatile wing with the ability to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor. He’s got great strength and size for a small forward, handles the basketball well, passes with efficiency, rebounds adequately and has a nice offensive game overall.

Purdue and Stanford seem to be the prohibitive favorites at this point, but that could change as Ingram gets closer to a decision. While there’s no known timeline for that decision right now, things seem to be moving along pretty quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one more round of cuts from Ingram before a final announcement is made. That may require some official visits, though, and there’s no telling how long it’ll be before that’s a possibility again.
