The UNC Basketball program is still in the race for this top five-star target in 2021 but what is a timetable for his decision?

The race to land five-star point guard Kennedy Chandler continues on through this recruiting dead period and there may not be an immediate end in sight for a decision.

Chandler is one of the top players in the 2021 class and recently narrowed down his list to five schools with North Carolina, Duke, Memphis, Tennessee and Kentucky all made his final list and all are hoping they can reel in the talented point guard out of Tennessee.

Despite some rumblings that Chandler wants to be a package deal, the recruit hasn’t really set a timetable on his final decision. Instead, Chandler says he’s staying open to any timetable for his decision.

Chandler talked about that plus why he did cut his list down to five schools in his most recent blog with  You can read that here:

"It made it tougher to cut the list just with all of the quarantining we’re all going through right now. I just felt like it was important to have a smaller list to concentrate on.I can definitely feel the difference already. It’s a lot easier when you have less texts and phone calls to make.I won’t have another cut to my list or anything like that; I’ll pick my school from this list."

Chandler is ranked as the No. 15 overall recruit, No. 2 point guard and No. 2 player in Tennessee in the 2021 recruiting rankings per 247 Sports.

The good news is that North Carolina is still involved. With the rumor that he wants to play somewhere with fellow five-star recruit Paolo Banchero, that would essentially eliminate the Tar Heels since Banchero cut them from his list. But Chandler also addressed that in the blog saying he has to do whats best for him and it’s too early to tell right now what that is.
