Jeremiah Francis will make his new college decision on Friday night as the former UNC Basketball point guard is set to announce

A former North Carolina guard is set to make his decision and begun the next step in his college basketball career this week.

After what was a shocking announcement that point guard Jeremiah Francis was transferring from the program, the guard is going to announce his new home this week. Francis tweeted out that he will make his decision on Friday, picking between New Mexico and Dayton:

Both programs would provide Francis with an opportunity to play more minutes, his big reason why he left UNC. Francis played in 16 games for the Tar Heels, averaging 13.6 minutes per game while battling some injuries.

After committing to North Carolina in 2017, Francis suffered two major knee injuries that cost him the rest of his high school career. Still, the Tar Heels honored his scholarship and welcomed him in as part of the 2019 class.

Francis showed some promise in his limited time with the Tar Heels, earning some valuable time with Cole Anthony and Anthony Harris suffering injuries. He averaged 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

With Anthony leaving for the NBA and Harris recovering from a torn ACL, Francis was going to have to compete with incoming recruits Caleb Love and R.J. Davis for playing time.

Being an Ohio native, Dayton may make the most sense to be the favorites to land Francis on Friday night.
