UNC Football: Big in-state recruiting target set to make decision
By Zack Pearson
A big UNC Football recruiting target is set to make his decision on Tuesday afternoon but it doesn’t look good for the Tar Heels
The North Carolina Tar Heels football program will soon know their fate for one of the top targets left on their 2021 recruiting board.
After Mack Brown and his staff have pulled in some of the best talent from the state of North Carolina for their 2021 class, they still have some more targets left on that board. One of those players is five-star running back Will Shipley.
The Matthews, North Carolina native plays at Weddington High School and is the No. 24 overall player in the 2021 class and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per 247 Sports. The all-purpose back has been on UNC’s radar for a long time and now he’s set to make his decision.
Shipley revealed on Monday night that he will announce his college decision on Tuesday afternoon, ending his recruitment:

It’s believed that the No. 1 all-purpose back is down to Clemson, Notre Dame and North Carolina as he goes into his decision. But luck may not be on UNC’s side Tuesday.
As it stands now, Clemson has has received 9 of the 10 Crystal Ball predictions with Notre Dame receiving the other one. He’s picked up five predictions already on Monday including from a Notre Dame beat reporter. 247 Sports recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong also made his pick in late April for Clemson.
It would be a big shocker if the Tar Heels could land him on Tuesday but stranger things have happened.
