The UNC Basketball program will meet with a top recruit in the 2021 recruiting class next week as they turn their focus to that class

The North Carolina Tar Heels are awaiting the decision of four-star guard Kerwin Walton in the 2020 recruiting class this weekend, hoping to land their final commitment for the cycle.

With that 2020 cycle pretty much wrapped up for the Tar Heels, Roy Williams and his staff will shift their focus to 2021. The Tar Heels have a total of six offers out and one commitment in the 2021 class, landing four-star small forward Dontrez Styles just over a week ago.

UNC is after some of the top recruits in the class in hopes of building on their No. 3-ranked 2020 class. If Williams and his staff can accomplish that, then the future of the program will be even brighter.

This week, the Tar Heels are set to reach out to a new target in that 2021 class and he could end up potentially earning a scholarship down the road. Per Stockriser’s Jake Weingarten, the UNC staff will meet with five star guard Hunter Sallis on Monday:

Sallis is ranked No. 30 overall, No. 4 combo guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska in the 2021 recruiting class per 247 Sports.

He’s received a total of 16 offers so far in his recruitment but does not have one from the Tar Heels just yet. That could change as UNC is starting to show some significant interest in the Midwest prospect.

Sallis has earned offers from some top programs such as Kansas, Oregon, and Gonzaga as well as a handful of others from programs in the Midwest.

Next. Will the Tar Heels land on this 5-star recruits final list?. dark
