UNC Basketball: Former Tar Heels team up in Blue Bloods COD Tournament

Former North Carolina Tar Heels will team up in a Call of Duty Tournament featuring other Blue Blood programs

These days it’s tough to stay busy with the lack of sports on our televisions. Many have turned to Netflix or video games for their entertainment with the limited amount of sports going on.

With the suggested shelter in place, eGaming has started to take off a bit with broadcasts of various video games and even celebrities participating in tournaments to raise money for relief efforts. The latest event will match up some blue blood college basketball programs in a Call of Duty Tournament that is set to take place on Thursday afternoon.

The “Battle of the Blues: A Call of Duty COVID-19 Relief Tournament” that was created by former UNC standout Justin Jackson. It will pit North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky and Villanova against each other in the popular Call of Duty game. Each team will consist of four former players from their respected school plus a Call of Duty professional player.

For North Carolina, former Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year Justin Jackson will captain the Tar Heels team and will be joined by Marcus Paige, Brice Johnson, and Brandon Robinson, as well as pro “Clayster”:

Duke will feature Seth Curry, Tre Jones, Grayson Allen, Cam Reddish, and professional video game player Methodz. Villanova will be represented by Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, Eric Paschall, and professional gamer Crimsix.

Representing Kentucky will be De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Maxey, along with future Wildcats Terrence Clarke, and Isaiah Jackson. Their pro will be Zeno.

The event was put together and sponsored by Jackson and fans can win autographed gear for donations throughout the event. The fun begins at 2 p.m. EST and will be broadcasted live on Twitch.
