Incoming five-star point guard Caleb Love is ready to take Chapel Hill by storm as the next great UNC Basketball point guard.

One five-star point guard exits and in comes another. Cole Anthony has officially declared for the NBA draft, but the North Carolina Tar Heels are set to reload at the guard position with another five-star recruit.

In comes Caleb Love for the Tar Heels. A 6-foot-3 point guard from Saint Louis, Missouri who will likely be the starter for next year’s squad.

Love is the next great Tar Heel point guard in the line of greatness that has come out of that position in Chapell Hill. From Raymond Felton to Ty Lawson to Kendall Marshall to Coby White to Cole Anthony and now Caleb Love.

The dynamic recruit is another five-star point guard with a prospect grade of 94 on ESPN and he has earned every bit of those ratings. He’s crazy talented and brings so much to the table for North Carolina.

What makes this kid so impressive is the speed at which he plays the game and when you play at the speed it always comes with responsibility. You must have a sense of control and patience and Love has it.

His ability to stop on a dime and make snap decisions is what has me anxious to see him in Carolina blue and white. Whether he’s slamming the brakes to attempt a pull-up jump shot or look to make a play for his teammates, his control is always there.

Not only does Love play at 100 miles per hour, but he also plays way above the rim. He’s potentially the most athletic guard that Roy Williams has ever had.

Tar Heel fans are going to love Caleb Love. He plays with intense energy and with a heavy chip on his shoulder. What I learned from watching his high school games and highlights is that he always has to prove he is the best player on the court.

Love comes from Christian Brother College high school in Missouri. Former NBA player Delonte West attended this high school as well. Love also spent his AAU seasons playing for NBA Star Bradley Beal’s team.

Caleb Love is a special talent and brings so much to the table for the Tar Heels. The anticipation is at an all-time high as this previous season didn’t go to plan, but this incoming class has plans to return this program into form.
