The UNC football program continues its hot streak on the recruiting trail, picking up two more in-state recruits and moving up to No. 2 in the national rankings.

Already tied with Ohio State for the most committed 4-star prospects (11) in the nation for the class of 2021, the North Carolina Tar Heels continue to build on one of their best recruiting hauls in program history. In just his second season back in Chapel Hill, UNC head coach Mack Brown has absolutely dominated recruiting in his home state, reeling in 13 of North Carolina’s top 40 high school football prospects.

The two latest additions to the class came on Friday afternoon when 4-star linebacker Raneiria “RaRa” Dillworth and 3-star offensive guard Jared Wilson gave their pledges to the Tar Heels. Those two commitments moved the Tar Heels up to No. 2 in the 2021 class rankings, and further solidified the apparent stranglehold that Mack Brown and company have on recruiting in the state of North Carolina.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Dillworth is ranked 223rd in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the No. 17 prospect at his position, and 13th in the state of North Carolina. A junior at Glenn High School in Kernersville, North Carolina, Dillworth chose UNC over Alabama. He joined fellow 2021 UNC commit Drake Maye as highly touted prospects to turn down the Crimson Tide in favor of the Tar Heels.

Wilson is a 6-foot-4, 325-pounder that’s ranked No. 390 in the nation. He’s a top-20 offensive guard, and No. 22 in the state of North Carolina. One of the biggest players on his team at West Forsyth, Wilson had offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State and South Carolina, among others.

Brown and the UNC coaching staff aren’t done yet, with scholarship offers out to a number of big-time recruits in the class. One of those is Will Shipley, one of the top running backs in the country, and a player that’s seriously considering the Tar Heels. They’ve also got a good shot at a pair of top-500 offensive linemen in Episcopal’s Logan Taylor and Rockingham’s Colby Smith. The same goes for JJ Jones, a 3-star wide receiver from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Next. This will be UNC's first commit of the 2021 class. dark
