UNC Football: Tar Heels pick up Crystal Ball prediction for 4-star linebacker
4-star UNC football target RaRa Dillworth is down to just two schools. He plans to make a college decision on April 17, and just picked up a Crystal Ball prediction for one of them.
Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels are anxiously awaiting the college decision of 4-star class of 2021 prospect Raneiria “RaRa” Dillworth. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound outside linebacker is set to make his announcement on April 17, one that will come down to Alabama and North Carolina.
Dillworth had nearly 30 scholarship offers when he cut his list of programs down to just five. At that point, it was Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, NC State and South Carolina that stood to gain from his commitment. That was in February, and it wasn’t until about a month later that Dillworth named the Tar Heels and Crimson Tide as his two finalists.
After initially setting an announcement date for mid-April, Dillworth moved his decision date back to May 9, the day of his mother’s birthday. Following a discussion with his mother about his recruitment, though, Dillworth decided to move his commitment back to the original date. He told 247Sports that he is still hearing from other programs, but is no longer answering their calls.
"“I’ve been leaning toward [Alabama and UNC],” Dillworth said. “I have visited both of them. It has been between both of those schools and they both have been showing love. There’s Mack Brown and there’s Nick Saban. . .I love everything about North Carolina, too. They have a Hall-of-Fame coach. The same thing with Alabama: they can develop me. I can definitely be a factor in my freshman year.”"
On Friday night, North Carolina picked up a Crystal Ball prediction from Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. That’s notable for UNC and its fans given the fact that Wiltfong has correctly predicted the destination of 96-of-97 prospects in the 2021 class.
Dillworth compiled 203 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, five sacks, and an interception as a junior at Glenn High School. He returned the interception and two fumbles for touchdowns. He’s the No. 226 prospect in the 2021 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s 19th among players at his position, and No. 13 in the state of North Carolina.
