A UNC Football commit in the 2021 recruiting class received an offer from the Florida Gators to which he called his “dream school.”

The North Carolina football 2021 recruiting class is off to a heck of a start in the early recruiting period. Mack Brown and his staff currently have the No. 4 overall class per 247 Sports and have 11 commitments so far.

While UNC is still pursuing some top targets, they feel good about their stable of recruits they have committed.

One of the first players to commit to UNC was safety Dontavius Nash. The four-star safety out of Gastonia, North Carolina pledged his commitment in June of 2019 and has been on campus for plenty of visits since then. But during this quiet period issued by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nash received a new offer.

The recruit was officially offered by the Florida Gators, his “dream school” per his tweet:

Nash remains committed to North Carolina and there is no reason why he would decommit at this time despite the new offer. Later that day, he tweeted out a photo of himself in a North Carolina jersey edit with two emojis:

There is some familiarity with Florida as former North Carolina coach and recruiter Tim Brewster currently coaches at Florida. He left UNC to take the Gators job just a few months ago and reached out with an offer for Nash.

There appears to be nothing to worry about right now and UNC still has their 11 players committed and considered solid.
