UNC Basketball commit Caleb Love earned a big honor for the state of Missouri on Wednesday to cap off his senior season

Caleb Love’s senior season got cut short in Missouri just a few days before he was set to play in the semifinals of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association state championship game.

Despite not being able to finish the season, it didn’t take away from what Love and his Christian Brother’s College team was able to accomplish. The five-star North Carolina commit was fantastic this season leading the way for Christian Brothers and he picked up some honors along the way.

The latest honor might just be his biggest.

Love was not only named the MBCA Class 5 Player of the Year and First-Team selection, he was also recognized as the top player in the state of Missouri.  The MBCA announced on Wednesday that Love was named the Mr. Show-Me Basketball for the 2019-20 season.

Love is part of a 2020 North Carolina recruiting class that is currently ranked No. 3 overall by 247 Sports and includes three five-star recruits. In addition to Love, both Walker Kessler and Day’Ron Sharpe are also listed as five-star recruits. Joining them in the class are four-star recruits Donovan “Puff” Johnson and R.J. Davis.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Love is ranked No. 18 overall in the 2020 class and the No. 2 point guard per 247 Sports. He committed to North Carolina back in November and is the Tar Heels’ top-rated recruit in the class. He joins Davis as the two recruits in UNC’s class to be named their state’s Mr. Basketball.
