UNC Football: Tar Heels make cut for 3-star OT’s Top 8 list
By Zack Pearson
The UNC Football program receives some good news in the race for this three-star offensive tackle in the 2021 recruiting class
Mack Brown and his staff at North Carolina are turning the program around and are doing it through recruiting.
Brown has had a Top 30 class in 2019 and then a Top 20 class in 2020 so far in his return to North Carolina. His 2021 class is ranked No. 4 overall per 247 Sports and although it’s still early on, it’s a great start for what will be a very important class.
The Tar Heels currently have 11 players committed in that class, landing 10 of them from the state of North Carolina. But they are far from done. UNC is still in the running for several recruits in that class as they hope to keep adding on and land a Top 10 class when it is all said and done.
On Sunday, the Tar Heels received some good news regarding one recruit. Three-star offensive tackle Jared Wilson officially trimmed his list down to 8 schools and included the Tar Heels on that list:

Joining UNC on that list are LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Clemson, Arkansas and Florida State.
That is some tough competition for the three-star North Carolina native that is ranked No. 383 overall, No. 21 at his position and the No. 22 overall player in the state per 247 Sports. UNC is also battling a former coach in this recruitment as Tim Brewster is helping lead the way for the Gators.
While it’s a quiet period in recruiting right now, this is certainly some good news for UNC and they will take any that they can get.
