A UNC Football recruiting target breaks down how the COVID-19 impacts his recruitment with the current dead period going on in the NCAA

The COVID-19 has shut down most of America including all professional sports as the decisions were made last week to suspended leagues including college basketball.

With Spring collegiate sports shut down for the year, the NCAA also put a hold on recruiting for at least another month, shutting it down and considering it a dead period. With that decision, it impacted some recruits trips from the past weekend including three North Carolina football recruiting targets that were scheduled to visit this month and in April.

One of those prospects is running back TreVeyon Henderson, who has become a big target on UNC’s recruiting board. The Hopewell, Virginia native is the No. 17 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class and has a total of 40 offers so far in his recruitment.

But this new dead period in recruiting will have an impact on Henderson and hundreds of other uncommitted prospects. 247 Sports caught up with some of those prospects including Henderson to break down their plans.

Here is what Henderson told Zach Blostein:

"“It affects my recruitment a lot, I was going to take a couple more visits to get a feeling of some other schools, but now I’ll just go with the top schools I have.“"

Henderson has yet to officially announce his top teams list but he did tell Dawg Nation that Georgia would be on that list. He’s also taken a visit to Virginia Tech and had one to UNC before it was cancelled, so it’s safe to assume both of those schools are considered part of his list.

As a junior, Henderson had 3,000 all-purpose yards, had 53 touchdowns and also made 43 tackles and 3 interceptions. He’s considered the No. 1 running back in the country and would be a huge get to what is already a really good class for North Carolina.

Next. A big four-star RB is set to announce his decision. dark
