UNC Basketball: Five-star recruiting target to visit Saturday’s game at Duke
By Zack Pearson
A UNC Basketball recruiting target will visit Durham for Saturday’s Duke and UNC matchup in the ACC regular season finale
The North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils are set to meet for the second time this season on Saturday as the two teams play their regular season finale in Durham.
Duke got the best of the Tar Heels in the first meeting, rallying from a double-digit deficit to stun the Tar Heels in overtime. While UNC is in a down year, you can ‘throw out’ the records when these two teams meet and that was the case in the first meeting.
As the two teams close out the regular season and get ready for the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, it should be another crazy atmosphere in Durham. And among those in the crowd is scheduled to be a big five-star recruiting target for both teams.
According to Jake Weingarten of StockRisers, five-star guard Trevor Keels will be on Duke’s campus for Saturday’s showdown:
Keels is a target of both Duke and North Carolina, holding an offer from both programs among the 17 total offers he currently has. The five-star shooting guard out of Fairfax, Virginia is ranked No. 18 overall in the 2021 class and the No. 2 shooting guard per 247 Sports.
Duke currently has one commit signed for their 2021 class with the commitment of AJ Griffin who is teammates with UNC commit R.J. Davis. The Tar Heels have yet to land a commitment in the 2021 class but have several targets on their board.
Keels might be one of the top targets for UNC as he has a very impressive overall game with the ability to score from all over the floor. His recruitment is certainly worth keeping tabs on.
