A UNC Basketball inspired retro Air Jordan III is set to release this Saturday morning and it’s a must-get for sneakerheads and North Carolina fans

One of the best parts of being a North Carolina athlete, fan or any job within a program at the University is the awesome exclusive shoes from Jordan Brand. Every year Jordan Brand releases a few different special UNC colorways of their latest shoes with some for players only and others released to the general public.

While most of the really good ones are player exclusives, this week UNC fans will get the chance to score a pair of retro Air Jordans.

The Air Jordan III is set to release in a UNC-inspired colorway this Saturday on Nike.com. Last season rumors swirled that a new UNC colorway of the retro Air Jordan III was set to release in 2020 fully equipped with the Tar Heels logo on the tongue, similar to the Player Exclusives we saw just two years ago.

But now official images have released on the Nike SNKRS app and unfortuanetly, there will be no NC logo. Instead, the Jumpman logo gets a Carolina Blue touch to match the white upper of the shoe.

Take a look below:

Officially titled “Valor Blue” this version of the iconic Air Jordan III pays homage to Jordan’s college career at North Carolina. The Carolina Blue accents mesh well with the white upper and classic cement print.

A tribute to Jordan can be found on the inside of the shoe with a stitched Nike tag, thanking MJ for paving the way.
