UNC football head coach Mack Brown set some pretty high goals for his team in the upcoming 2020 season as he met the media on Wednesday

In just his first year back as head coach at the University of North Carolina, Mack Brown is on the right track to getting things turned around.

North Carolina is coming off a 7-6 campaign in 2019 which included the program’s first bowl win since 2013 as they beat Temple in the Military Bowl. For the Tar Heels, it was an impressive turnaround but they don’t want to stop here.

Going into 2020, the Tar Heels return the majority of their starters on offense, a good chunk on defense and welcome in a Top 20 recruiting class. They will have some depth holes to fill but overall they are in pretty good shape. UNC will begin Spring practices soon and then host their annual Spring Game in April.

After that, it won’t be until training camp where we see them practice as they get ready for the season opener at UCF.

On Wednesday, Brown met with the media for the pre-Spring press conference to talk about the upcoming schedule and what expects from his team next season. The head coach discussed a lot of topics including where he sees this team going.

Brown didn’t shy away from a big goal, saying that this team is capable of winning the Atlantic Coast Conference:

In the previous two seasons before Mack’s arrival, the Tar Heels won a total of three games so the expectations weren’t very high. After what they did last season however, those goals ramp up a bit as the Tar Heels should be one of the preseason favorites in the ACC Coastal Division.

The head coach wants to put UNC football back on the map and even joked that he wants people to schedule weddings around their games so they don’t miss any.

Brown has this program going in the right direction and another big season in 2020 should help progress that even more.
