The UNC Basketball program received a one-day unofficial visit over the weekend from one of the best players in the 2021 recruiting class

Roy Williams and his staff are hoping they can land some big recruits in the 2021 recruiting class, following a 2020 class that is currently ranked No. 3 overall. With the struggles the program is having this season, landing some big recruits and classes is crucial for the future of this program.

One target that is high on North Carolina’s board is five-star small forward Patrick Baldwin. The Milwaukee native is ranked No. 3 overall in the 247 Sports recruiting rankings and is the best player in the state of Wisconsin.

While Baldwin has 20 offers in his recruitment, including one from North Carolina, it appears as if the Duke Blue Devils are the favorites to land him. Duke has all 7 Crystal Ball predictions so far and over the weekend, he took a visit to Durham to watch Duke take on Virginia Tech.

But that’s not the only place he stopped at.

Following his visit to Duke, Baldwin traveled down the road to Chapel Hill for a one-day unofficial visit per The Devil’s Den:

Baldwin was on campus Sunday and it’s unknown if head coach Roy Williams was there to meet with him or not. Williams was in Washington D.C. on Sunday afternoon to watch 2021 target Trevor Keels.

The 6-foot-9, 190-pound Baldwin is a prized recruit in the 2021 class and has a basketball bloodline with his father Pat, was a standout at Northwestern and currently coaches at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While in-state programs like Wisconsin, Marquette and Wisconsin-Milwaukee are all attempting to land him, this recruitment seems destined to end at a Blue Blood program and probably the one we all don’t want him to go to. There is still a long way to go in his recruitment and a lot can happen but overall we will just have to wait and see.
