UNC Basketball head coach Roy Williams was on the recruiting trail Sunday as he watched a four-star recruit in the 2021 class in Washington D.C.

The North Carolina Tar Heels’ basketball program is reeling in this 2019-20 season, dropping their seventh-straight game with the road loss to Louisville on Saturday.

Following that game, North Carolina began preparation for a home matchup with N.C. State as the two teams will meet in the Dean Dome on Tuesday night. UNC’s last win came on the road against the Wolfpack back in late January and since then they have suffered some tough losses.

But before the Tar Heels and Wolfpack meet again, head coach Roy Williams was on the recruiting trail to check out a future prospect.

Per Jake Weingarten of Stock Riser’s, Roy Williams and an assistant will be in Washington D.C. to watch 2021 four-star recruit Trevor Keels:

Williams isn’t the only coach that was in attendance for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinals that featured DeMatha vs. St. John’s College and Paul VI vs. Gonzaga on Sunday. He was joined by staff from Villanova, Miami, Virginia, Michigan and Georgetown were also in attendance to watch the event and several recruiting prospects.

Keels is ranked as the No. 31 overall recruit in the 2021 class by 247 Sports Composite Rankings and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia. He has a total of 16 offers in his recruitment including from Virginia, Duke, Michigan, Villanova, Ohio State and Florida among others. North Carolina has yet to offer the recruit but that could change as they are certainly showing significant interest.
