Former UNC basketball star Coby White backs up career night with another terrific performance in a win over the Washington Wizards.

Just one night removed from scoring a career-high 33 points in a 112-104 loss to the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls rookie point guard Coby White messed around and did it again. This time, though, the result of the game was a little more favorable for the first-year player out of North Carolina.

White had 26 points after two quarters on Sunday night, which went a long way in giving the Bulls a 15-point halftime lead. He finished the game with 33 points on an 11-for-17 shooting performance from the floor, and 5-for-9 from three-point range. He also knocked down 6-of-7 shots from the free throw line, to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 34 minutes off the Chicago bench.

In doing so, White became the first Bulls rookie to record back-to-back 30-point games since, you guessed it, Michael Jordan. He joins Trae Young and Allen Iverson as the only rookies to record consecutive games of 33 or more points since 1992. And since the NBA officially began tracking starters in 1971, White is the first rookie to score 30-plus points off the bench in two straight games.

Over his last two outings, White is shooting 22-of-40 from the floor, 12-of-22 from beyond the arc and 10-of-11 from the foul line. He’s averaging a career-best 15.2 points per game in the month of February, and has scored double-digit points in six of the team’s seven games this month.

White and the Bulls will be back in action when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at the United Center on Tuesday night.
