UNC Basketball commit R.J. Davis earned a pretty big honor for his senior season this year and continued his hot play on Sunday afternoon

For North Carolina fans, the 2019-20 season can’t come soon enough as the Tar Heels’ struggles continued with another loss on Saturday to Louisville.

While UNC has struggled this season, there are brighter days ahead for the program in what many hope will be a quick turnaround. It helps that North Carolina is welcoming in the No. 3 overall recruiting class for 2020 headlined by three five-star recruits plus two four-star recruits.

Among those four-star recruits coming in is New York native R.J. Davis. The guard has been really impressive in his senior season at Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, New York. He’s been so good that he was even named the MVP of the Catholic High School Athletic Association in New York.

The league announced their “AA” All-League Team on Sunday morning:

The honor is the latest for Davis in his senior season as he was previously named to the McDonald’s All-American Game as well as the Jordan Brand Classic. Now he’s attempting to cap off his fantastic senior season with a NY Archdiocesan title and then a state title following it.

Davis celebrated his new honor by dropping a triple-double in Archbishop Stepinac’s 99-62 win over Mount St. Michael on Sunday. They return to action in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, taking on Hayes with a trip to the title game on the line.
