The UNC Football program has a few commits listed in the updated 247 rankings for the 2021 recruiting class. Find out where they rank as well as other targets.

With the 2020 college football recruiting cycle coming to a close, the 2021 class is in full swing.

Mack Brown and his staff put together a Top 20 2020 class and it comes at the right time with UNC trending upwards following a 7-6 season and a bowl win. Now the focus is on the 2021 class where UNC has five players already committed and all five are in-state recruits.

Among those five committed, UNC has three players ranked in the Top 247 players in the 2020 class by 247 Sports. The site updated their new rankings on Wednesday afternoon and a few UNC commits and prospects were listed in the Top 247.

UNC’s highest ranked recruit is Athlete Gabe Stephens who checks in at No. 104 overall which is up 23 spots from the last set of rankings. Stephens pledged his commitment to UNC on Feb. 7th, becoming the fourth member of his class.

Take a look at where UNC recruits are ranked:

  • No. 104 — Gabe Stephens, ATH
  • No. 125 — Power Echols, ILB
  • No. 228 — Gavin Blackwell, WR

Safety Dontavius Nash is ranked No. 254 and athlete Caleb Hood is No. 452 on the list that was just updated.

In addition to the UNC commits on the list, the Tar Heels have a few targets that also appear in the rankings. That includes defensive end Keeshawn Silver (No. 33), defensive tackle Payton Page (No. 84), defensive end Jahvaree Ritzie (No. 223), and outside linebacker Raneiria Dillworth (No. 245).

The Tar Heels 2021 class currently ranks No. 10 overall early on in the cycle and have some Crystal Ball predictions for some of the recruiting targets listed above. Landing just a few of them would certainly help the class and see a rise in the rankings.

There’s a long way to go in this recruiting class but UNC is in great shape for this 2021 class.
